My first win and a giveaway

I can't believe I actually won something!!! How many of you have said these words?
Jenelle @ ECHINOPS & ASTER was hosting a giveaway for a huge milestone on her blog - 200 GFC!! Now she is already over 300 Congrats again Jenelle :)  It was a fantastic giveaway!! A Fat Quarter bundle from Pink Chalk Fabrics of some of the new Kona Cottons. Look how beautiful they are.

They do such a lovely job over at Pink Chalk Fabrics. They have such a great selection of modern fabrics and Kathy has a fantastic blog. If you haven't been by there - (which is probably impossible) scoot on over right now! And look how it came, all tied up with a cute little tag :)

I had to watch my friend Julie who came by the other day. She tried to pocket my goodies haha. She said "do you need to check my bag before I leave?" You better believe it!! I don't blame her, they are so pretty :)

This month is a hand stitching giveaway. I have a fantastic pattern for a Mini Quilt from Lizzy House. I love the embroidery. This little guy is so cute!

This leather thimble is so soft and feels great when stitching for an extended period of time.

Last but certainly not least is some fabulous floss. In my opinion  you can never have enough :)

Here is this months giveaway bundle of hand stitching goodness!

I will randomly pick a winner on Monday the 27th through Random.org. To enter just leave a comment on this post telling me what your favorite thing to eat is. :) I hope you guys are having a great week!!

A winner and some reality!!

Man reality hits you hard bro!! I have this idea of the kind of blogger I want to be (updates at least a few times a week) and it is seriously hard to achieve that in this season of my life right now!  I have been on this journey for a very short time and I am loving every minute of it. However it's hard to carve out the time for everything I want to do. If only we had 36 hour days :) I would probably still be in the same boat, but more tired haha. This week has been extra rough, because we have had some sickness going on. It started with my 5 year old who started feeling bad, then he passed it on to his brother, who passed it on to me. Everyone is on the mend except for the little one who now has strep throat. When it rains it pours! Sorry no more pity party. I was reading over at Quokka Quilts and she wrote a post about this hideous name badge dilemma - Someone had made this badge of an Octopus sword fighting a Kangaroo.  I told her that I made that name badge :(  She wrote me and asked if I really did and could I send her a pic. Of course I was just teasing, but then that got me thinking. So I set out to create it.  This was my first draft and I thought it needed  a little somethin somethin.

So here comes the rainbow and some stars.

I also added an eyepatch for the Kangaroo :)
So being couch ridden for the last few day I was able to get my stitching on. I'm loving it!! It makes me smile every time I look at it. I needed to smile more this week for sure.

I'm Linking up with The Handmade Parade.
Go check out some of the hand stitching that's going on.

Now time for that amazing giveaway - Finally!!

Hopping Back On The Embroidery Wagon

I have been doing so many other projects that my embroidery has taken a back seat. So I just finished my sweet little peach!! I really love all these designs. They are so much fun and so retro. I am still debating on what to do with each piece, but I know it will hit me when the time is right. So here she is before she got all technicolored.

Here is the lovely Miss Peach with a splash of color on her. I don't know why I didn't take any pictures of her during the process. :(
I'll try and do a better job next time.

I'm linking up today with Freshly Pieced W.i.P. Wednesday

I hope everyone is having a fantastic Wednesday morning.

A Fabulous Embroidery Sew Along

Earlier I blogged about wanting to join in this Princess Sew Along by Lilipopo. Like I have said before her patterns and designs are very charming and so much fun. She is graciously giving this pattern to those who are joining in her sew along. If you like to embroider or like embroidery at  all then pop on over to her blog.

She sent me the pattern and I transferred it to my fabric. Time for some stitching. This princess is so whimsical and reminds me of some fairytale stories I used to read when I was a little.
Here she is!

I also picked up a new book this morning. I have one of her others which I love. I'm excited to look through it and I'll give a review on it soon :)

I hope everyone is having a lovely Thursday!

She's finished!

Short Post - Since I'm about to run out the door.
Miss Colada is here and is ready for Summer!
She was a little more involved than I first thought. I did a new stitch for her glass called the long and short stitch. It took forever! Probably because I have never done it before, but it took me over an hour and a half :)

I will post some pictures of the new girl in the series later today!
I hope you guys are enjoying your lovely day!

Miss Orangiana update

She was so much fun to stitch!! She's like a pin up orange :)
So here is the first bit of color: Eyes and Lips

I thought I would give her a cute little blue dress and some hot red heels.

While I was stitching away I looked over beside me and saw this. Our little Bella (She is older than Twilight - just sayin) asleep in between a princess and the pea stack of blankets!

And here she is ready to say hello to the world.

I Need To Do Some Embroidery ASAP!

I had no idea how much I would like hand embroidery. In fact I was really kind of scared to even try it. That is really silly I know, but for whatever reason I was. So after diving into it with the Advent Calendar  (which still has to be completed..ahem) I found how much I love it! So yesterday I  was over at Craft Couture and saw this charming little princess that she was doing in a sew along. I fell in love and headed over to Lilipopo. She has the sweetest embroidery designs and is offering this free pattern for the sew along. If you love embroidery head over to her blog and check out her designs. So this got me into hand embroidery mode. While I wait for my pattern to come in, I remembered that I found some designs from a very old German cookbook that I copied down. What's funny is the designs have nothing to do with the cooking at all. It's all very random. So here she is in all her Glory Miss Orangiana!
