So this week I had my hands in a million different projects and had every intention of doing my two blocks for the week. I underestimated the tiny weeny triangles :( They took me forever to cut out and were a stink to put together. I love the blue fabric, but it kept giving me trouble! Every time I would start sewing it would just shove down into the throat plate of my machine. It was very irritating to say the least.
Without further ado here is Block # 7 Birds in the Air
So I think all things considered it turned out ok. I will try to do 3 blocks this week in order to catch up.
Woohoo! The blocks with a lot of little pieces are awful to do. Good for you for sticking with it.
ReplyDeletesome weeks are like that - hang in there, girl!
ReplyDeleteYou didn't ask for a tip, but I thought I would offer one just in case - when you are working with tiny pieces, start your sewing on a scrap strip, when the scrap is through all the way, do NOT clip the threads, but put in the pieces that you actually want to sew, keep tension on the scrap strip as you start your seam. It should help.
ReplyDeleteYour block looks good, sometimes a block just knocks it out of us!
It was worth it though, cause that block is fantastic!! I Wouldn't have even attempted it ;)
